The Calgary Flames have assigned defenseman Ilya Solovyov to the Calgary Wranglers, the AHL's Transactions page reported Thursday.
Solovyov, a 2020 seventh round pick of the Flames, is in his fourth full season in the organization. Across 43 games with the Wranglers in 2024-25, Solovyov has collected six goals and 15 assists for 21 points while putting up one assist in five games with the Flames.
Across parts of two seasons seeing NHL time, Solovyov has appeared in 15 regular season games, collecting four assists. In his time in the AHL with the Wranglers and the Stockton Heat, Solovyov has accumulated 18 goals and 62 points in 213 games.
With Solovyov being reassigned to the AHL, he will once again play big minutes for the team. Standing at 6-foot-3, Solovyov knows how to use his size to his advantage and has developed into a solid depth defender in the Flames' system.
