The Charlotte Checkers have signed forward Brett Chorske to a two-year, one-way deal, it was announced Thursday.
Chorske, who recently wrapped up his senior season in the NCAA, will join the Checkers on an amateur try-out for the remainder of the season.
A product of Edina, Minn., Chorske collected an impressive 15 goals and 19 assists for 34 points in 36 games with Colgate this year. Across two seasons with the Raiders and two with Colorado College, Chorske accumulated 28 goals and 45 assists for 73 points in 111 games.
Before making the jump, Chorske spent his time playing junior hockey for the BCHL's Wenatchee Wild and the NAHL's St. Cloud Norsemen.
With Chorske now making the jump to the AHL, he should be able to step right into the lineup and make an impact on the offensive side of the puck. He has flashed pro skills throughout his time in the NCAA and will be one to monitor as he begins his career in Charlotte.
