The Chicago Blackhawks have re-signed forward Zach Sanford to a one-year, two-way contract, the team announced Tuesday.
The deal will see Sanford make $775,000 at the NHL level.
Sanford put on many different uniforms this past season, suiting up for the Tucson Roadrunners, Arizona Coyotes, Chicago Blackhawks and Rockford IceHogs.
In 29 NHL games split between the Coyotes and Blackhawks, Sanford had six assists. He also collected four goals and six assists for 10 points in 29 games between the Roadrunners and IceHogs.
Originally a 2013 second-round pick of the Washington Capitals, Sanford has suited up for the Capitals, St. Louis Blues, Ottawa Senators, Winnipeg Jets, Nashville Predators, Arizona Coyotes and Chicago Blackhawks over parts of seven seasons.
While Sanford saw time in both the AHL and NHL this past season, he has spent the majority of his professional career in the NHL.
As he enters next season with the Blackhawks, it would not be surprising to see him stick with the team out of training camp. While he won't be relied upon to produce, Sanford is still a capable role player that the Blackhawks can put in their bottom six.
