Geoff Burke-Imagn ImagesThe Cleveland Monsters have recalled goaltender Pavel Cajan from the ECHL's Cincinnati Cyclones, it was announced Friday.
Cajan, a product of Pribram, Czechia, has split time this season between the AHL and ECHL. In four appearances with the Monsters, Cajan has posted a 2-2-0 record to go along with a 3.51 GAA and a .870 SP. With Cincinnati, he has posted a stat line of 13-10-5, a 2.42 GAA and a .902 SP in 28 games.
Over parts of three AHL seasons with the Monsters, Cajan has collected a record of 18-20-6 along with a 3.40 GAA and a .887 SP in 48 games. Prior to turning pro in North America, Cajan spent one season with the OHL's Kitchener Rangers as well as time playing junior and pro hockey in Czechia.
With Cajan's contract expiring at the end of this season, it will be interesting to see if he re-signs with the Blue Jackets organization. He has shown flashes that he can hang at the AHL level and could be an intriguing addition for another team to take a flyer on this summer.
