The Cleveland Monsters have signed forward Roman Ahcan to a two-year extension, it was announced earlier this week.

Ahcan, who hails from Savage, Minn., spent the entire 2024-25 season with the Monsters, scoring 18 goals and adding 11 assists for 29 points in 67 regular season games. With Cleveland having made the playoffs, Ahcan put up three points in six games.

Having turned pro with the Monsters at the end of the 2021-22 season, Ahcan has accumulated 38 goals and 34 assists for 72 points in 213 career regular season games. Prior to that, he spent four seasons at the University of Wisconsin and one season with the USHL's Cedar Rapids RoughRiders.

With Ahcan joining Cleveland for another two seasons, he will have the chance to continue growing his role with the team. This past year was his highest point total as an AHL player and he should only continue to get better - perhaps even challenging for NHL time if he impresses enough and earns a deal.
