The Colorado Avalanche have recalled goaltender Kevin Mandolese from the Colorado Eagles, it was announced Wednesday.
Mandolese, a product of Blainville, Que., has spent the entire season with the Eagles where he has posted a 10-6-0 record to go along with a 2.86 GAA and a .905 SP.
Drafted by the Ottawa Senators in the sixth round of the 2018 NHL Draft, Mandolese turned pro in 2020. Across three career NHL appearances, all with the Sens, Mandolese has posted a 1-2-0 record, a 3.29 GAA and a .916 SP.
With much more experience in the AHL, Mandolese has posted a 38-34-5 record, a 3.20 GAA and a .898 SP in 83 career games with the Eagles and Belleville Senators.
With Mandolese getting recalled, it remains to be seen whether he will appear in a game or not for the Avs. Having not made an NHL appearance since 2022-23, Mandolese has continued to develop his game since then and could be a reliable option if needed.
