

The Colorado Eagles and Charlotte Checkers were eliminated from the Calder Cup Playoffs Sunday, becoming the latest teams to see their seasons come to an end.
Having each taken their first round series to a third and deciding game, the Eagles lost to the Abbotsford Canucks while the Checkers were ousted by the Hartford Wolf Pack.
In a back and forth series, the Eagles lost Game 1 by a score of 4-2 before evening the series at one with a 5-4 OT victory in Game 2. In the deciding game, it was a back and forth affair but the Canucks were able to sneak through with a 2-1 OT victory to end the Eagles season.
Led by Arshdeep Bains and Tristen Nielsen, the Canucks got timely offensive contributions when they needed it. Zach Sawchenko was also stellar in the crease, posting a .2.50 GAA and a 925 SV% through three games.
In the Checkers and Wolf Pack series, Charlotte won Game 1 with a close 3-1 victory before Hartford evened the series with a 3-2 OT victory in Game 2. In a hard-fought Game 3, Hartford emerged with a 3-1 victory.
The Wolf Pack were led by Riley Nash, Nic Petan and Brett Berard offensively with each averaging a point-per-game over the series. Nash even scored the eventual game-winning goal in Game 3.
The Canucks are now scheduled to play the Ontario Reign while the Wolf Pack will take the Providence Bruins.
