Wise split time last year between the Charlotte Checkers and the Chicago Wolves

The Colroado Eagles have signed forward Jake Wise to a professional try-out, the team announced Tuesday.

Wise, a product of Naples, Fla., spent time last season with both the Charlotte Checkers and the Chicago Wolves. Over a combined 53 regular season games, he scored seven goals and added 14 assists for 21 points.

Before making the jump into pro hockey, Wise spent five seasons in the NCAA with Boston University and Ohio State. In 125 career games, he collected 25 goals and 84 points.

With Wise now joining the Eagles on a PTO, he has a strong chance to earn himself a contract. Prior to joining the Wolves last year, Wise had a great start with Charlotte, collecting 20 points in 38 games. If he can find a way to replicate that, he'll be a solid add for Colorado.
