The Dallas Stars recalled four players from the Texas Stars, the team announced Saturday.
The players recalled include forwards Oskar Back, Matej Blumel, and Fredrik Karlstrom as well as goaltender Remi Poirier.
With Texas having been eliminated in the second round of the Calder Cup Playoffs at the hands of the Milwaukee Admirals, this move allows Dallas to add depth and for the players to practice with the team.
Back, a third round pick of the Stars in 2018, has continually gotten better each season since coming overseas from Sweden. The 24-year old played 59 regular season games with Texas this year, collecting 36 points. He added five more in seven playoff games.
Blumel, a 2019 fourth-round pick of the Edmonton Oilers, just finished his second season playing within the Stars organization, scoring 31 goals and adding 31 assists for 62 points in 72 regular season games.
Blumel finished second on Texas in playoff points, adding a further nine points to his season total in seven playoff games.
Karlstrom, a 2016 third-round pick by the Stars, just finished his third season stateside - collecting 44 points in 72 regular season games and eight points in seven playoff games.
The last player recalled and the only non forward, Poirier put up solid numbers with Texas in both the regular season and playoffs. In 38 appearances during the regular season, Poirier put up a 17-16-4 record to go along with a 3.19 GAA and a .904 SV%.
In the playoffs, Poirier had a 4-3 record to go along with a 2.60 GAA and a .907 SV% in seven appearances.
With Dallas having eliminated the Colorado Avalanche to advance to the Western Conference Finals last night, this move allows the Stars to add depth to their roster as they look to punch their ticket to the Stanley Cup Finals.
