Defenceman William Villeneuve has been recalled by the Toronto Maple Leafs from their AHL affiliate team, the Toronto Marlies on emergency conditions.

The 24-year-old is currently in his fourth season with the Marlies where he has scored 28 points (3G, 25A) in 58 games.

The 2020 Draft fourth-rounder has recorded 106 assists in his four years with the AHL club, becoming the Marlies’ all-time leader in assists by a defenceman, while his 118 points sit only behind TJ Brennan for second on the Marlies’ all time scoring leaderboard by a blueliner.
