Both players have a chance to make their NHL debuts after two more defencemen on Ottawa, Thomas Chabot and Lassi Thomson were sidelined with injuries.
The 2024 Draft seventh overall pick Yakemchuk is in his first season in the AHL and has played 50 games, scoring 36 points (10G, 26A). His 36 points are the second-highest and his 10 goals are tied for first amongst rookie defencemen.
The 2022 Draft fifth rounder Donovan has scored 21 points (4G, 17A) in 58 games with Belleville in his second season with the AHL club this year. His 17 assists are second amongst the team's blueliners.
