The Florida Panthers have recalled forward Justin Sourdif from the Charlotte Checkers, the team announced Monday.

Sourdif, a 2020 third round pick of the Panthers, is in his third season of pro hockey, collecting 11 goals and 11 assists for 22 points in 29 games with the Checkers this year.

Since turning pro in 2022-23, Sourdif has spent the majority of his time with the Checkers, accumulating 30 goals and 84 points across 135 career regular season games. Sourdif has also appeared in three regular season games for the Panthers (all of which came in 2023-24) but went pointless.

Before joining the Panthers organization, the product of Richmond, B.C., spent parts of five seasons in the WHL with the Vancouver Giants and the Edmonton Oil Kings.

As Sourdif gets the call, he will likely see bottom six minutes if he gets into the lineup but will still have the opportunity to show he deserves to stick at the NHL level. Sourdif has the ability to play a responsible, two-way game and he should be in consideration for a full-time spot soon.
