The Edmonton Oilers are two wins away from tying the all-time win streak record.

After starting the season to a woefully underwhelming 15-12-1, resulting in the firing of head coach Jay Woodcroft, the Edmonton Oilers have been a revelation under former American Hockey League bench boss Kris Knoblauch.

The former head coach of the Hartford Wolf Pack has guided the club to a 23-3 record in their past 26 games for a 3.88 GF/GP, 1.96 GA/GP and an 89.9% penalty kill.

The club is currently on a historic 15-game win streak. They are just the fifth team in NHL history to hit 15 straight wins, with the 1992-93 Pittsburgh Penguins holding the record with 17 straight wins.

Knoblauch previously coached the Erie Otters from the 2012-13 season to 2016-17, winning OHL Coach of the Year in 2015-16 and an OHL championship in 2016-17.

In the AHL with Hartford, the Wolfpack picked up 255 points in 230 games under Knoblauch, finishing with a 112-87-37 record, reaching the third round of the Calder Cup finals in 2022-23 before bowing out to eventual league champion Hershey Bears

The Oilers shut out the Blackhawks last night 3-0 and are heading towards a potential 16th straight win on Saturday against the Nashville Predators.
