
Former Manitoba Moose defenseman Jimmy Oligny has signed a one-year deal with HKM Zvolen in Slovakia, it was announced this past week.
Oligny, who hails from Saint-Michel, Que., spent parts of the past six seasons playing for the Moose. In eight regular season games in 2023-24, he registered an assist.
Since turning pro in 2014, Oligny has spent all but one game of his career playing in the AHL. Over that time, he has collected 17 goals and 77 assists for 94 points in 473 regular season games.
With Oligny departing for Slovakia, he will be heading overseas for the first time in his career, Although his offensive numbers have taken a dip in the past few seasons, he has proven to be a valuable leader on and off the ice, serving as captain of the Moose for the past three seasons.
