Former Rochester Americans forward Alexander Kisakov has signed a try-out with the KHL's Dynamo Moskva, it was reported earlier this week.

Kisakov, a former 2021 second-round pick of the Buffalo Sabres, spent the 2024-25 season with the Americans, scoring three goals and adding an assist for four points in 13 regular season games. Having come to Rochester in 2022, Kisakov accumulated 14 goals and 11 assists for 25 points in 93 career AHL regular season games.

Before beginning his pro career in North America, Kisakov grew up playing in Dynamo Moskva's youth system, playing U16 hockey to the MHL (Russia's top-tier junior circuit) and on to four KHL games in his final season before making the trek over.

With Kisakov now heading back to his home country, the likelihood of him returning to North America appears pretty slim. Once viewed as an exciting prospect for the Sabres, Kisakov now returns to the KHL where he hopes to revitalize his pro career.
