You may recall the 23-year-old Hayes was reassigned to the WBS Penguins on Thursday, Mar. 19.
He had played in two games with the AHL club since, putting in a goal and an assist.
The 28-year-old Koppanen has scored 19 points (7G, 12A) in 37 games this AHL season.
He has played 30 games at the NHL level with Boston and Pittsburgh, scoring one goal and two assists.
