The Hershey Bears have recalled forward Justin Nachbaur from the ECHL's South Carolina Stingrays, it was announced Tuesday.
A product of Cross Lake, Man., Nachbaur is in his fourth pro season, having split time between the AHL and ECHL this year. Although he was held pointless in four games with the Bears, Nachbaur scored 12 goals and added 16 assists for 28 points in 48 regular season games with South Carolina.
With the Stingrays having made the playoffs, Nachbaur also got into six games with the team, putting up two assists in the process. Throughout his pro career, Nachbaur has gotten into 12 career AHL games with the Bears, the Charlotte Checkers and the Ontario Reign.
As Nachbaur joins the Bears, it remains to be seen whether or not he will get into a game with the team. Capable of contributing offensively while being a physical presence, Nachbaur's game is one that is built for the playoffs.
