The Iowa Wild have signed forward Connor MacEachern to a professional try-out, it was announced Wednesday.
MacEachern, a product of Brooklin, Ont., has spent the entire 2024-25 season with the ECHL's Idaho Steelheads, putting up 23 goals and 17 assists for 40 points in 41 games. Having turned pro at the end of the 2022-23 season, MacEachern has seen nine career AHL games with the San Jose Barracuda, collecting an assist.
Prior to making the transition to the pro game, MacEachern spent four seasons playing for Penn State, accumulating 31 goals and 77 points in 130 games while also serving as an assistant captain in his senior season.
As MacEachern joins the Wild, he should have the ability to slot into the lineup and play whatever role is asked of him. Being able to produce at the ECHL level has afforded him another opportunity and it would not be surprising to see him take full advantage of it.
