The Laval Rocket have assigned goaltender Luke Cavallin to the Trois-Rivières Lions, it was announced Saturday.
Cavallin, who was recently recalled to the Rocket, has been sent back to the ECHL with Cayden Primeau re-joining the team.
In his first season in the Montreal Canadiens organization, Cavallin split time during the regular season between the AHL and ECHL. In three games with Laval, he went 1-1-0 along with a 2.46 GAA and a .897 SP. Across 32 regular season games with the Lions, Cavallin posted a statline of 19-10-2, a GAA of 2.13 and a .929 SP.
With Trois-Rivières still in the playoffs, Cavallin will likely take back the starting spot, having already gone 4-0 in the playoffs while collecting a 1.59 GAA and a .945 SP. While he did not see a game with the Rocket during the recall, Cavallin is bound to have gained great insight and will once again be an important factor for the Lions as they look to win the Kelly Cup.
