The Laval Rocket have recalled goaltender Luke Cavallin from the Trois-Rivières Lions, it was announced Sunday.

The move comes after Cayden Primeau was recalled to the Montreal Canadiens.

Cavallin, a product of Swindon, Great Britain, is in his first season within the Canadiens organozation, having spent time at both the AHL and ECHL levels. In three regular season appearances with the Rocket, he went 1-1-0 while posting a 2.46 GAA and a .897 SP. Across 32 games with the Lions, he posted a record of 19-10-2, a 2.13 GAA and a .929 SP.

With the Lions making the ECHL playoffs, Cavallin has been lights out as well, going 4-0 so far while posting a 1.59 GAA and a .945 SP.

Having spent time within the Toronto Maple Leafs system as well, Cavallin has appeared in 12 career AHL games, putting up a 2.89 GAA and a .887 SP while going 4-5-2.

With Cavallin being recalled to the AHL, it is unlikely he sees any game time but it will still be a valuable learning experience for him. Although his contract is up this year, Cavallin has proven to be a reliable depth option for any team he signs with and will get another deal, whether that be with an AHL team or overseas.
