The Laval Rocket have signed six players to one-year deals, the team announced Monday.

Those signed to deals include forwards Vincent Arseneau and Laurent Dauphin, defensemen Joshua Jacobs, Vincent Sevigny and Tyler Wotherspoon and goaltender Hunter Jones.

Arseneau, a product of Quebec, Que., spent the 2023-24 season playing for the Providence Bruins where he had six goals and three assists for nine points in 44 regular season games.

Returning to North America after a season in Switzerland, Dauphin suited up for the Rocket for two years between 2020-2022. In 44 regular season games with HC Ambri-Piotta, he had 38 points.

Jacobs, a product of Shelby Township, Mich., last played during the 2022-23 season when he suited up for the Colorado Eagles. While Jacobs signed with the Springfield Thunderbirds last season, he never saw any game action with the team.

Another Quebec product, Sevigny joins the Rocket after spending the past two seasons with the Bridgeport Islanders. In 33 games this past season, he had one goal and four assists for five points.

Wotherspoon joins the Rocket after three seasons with the Utica Comets. In his final season with the team, he had 22 points in 65 regular season games.

The last signing of the bunch, Jones joins the Rocket after spending parts of four seasons in the Minnesota Wild organization. While Jones saw one game with the Iowa Wild this past season, he spent the majority of the year with the Iowa Heartlanders (ECHL) where he posted a 5-9-2 record, a 3.61 GAA and a .890 SV%.

With most teams around the NHL announcing depth signings on July 1, these moves may not excite fans as much as big-ticket signings but they go a long way towards replacing depth that has moved on. All these players should see time with the Rocket during 2024-25.
