Davidson spent the entire 2023-24 season playing for the Laval Rocket

The Montreal Canadiens have signed forward Jared Davidson to a two-year entry-level contract, the team announced Friday.

Davidson, a 2022 fifth-round pick of the Canadiens, just finished his first season of professional hockey with the Laval Rocket where he had 11 goals and five assists for 16 points in 38 games.

Prior to turning pro, Davidson spent five seasons playing for the Seattle Thunderbirds of the WHL where he scored 123 goals and added 139 assists for 262 points in 301 games played.

Davidson will need a few more years of development before potentially being viewed as a call-up option but he clearly played well enough for Canadiens management to reward him with a contract.

As the Canadiens look to take the next step towards returning to contention, having young players such as Davidson get their first professional experience and play well bodes for a promising future.
