The New Jersey Devils have re-signed forward Samuel Laberge to a one-year, two-way contract, the team announced Thursday.
Having just finished his third season with the Devils organization, Laberge played 59 games for the Comets - scoring six goals and adding 13 assists for 19 points. He also appeared in two games with the Devils, where he was held pointless.
Laberge's new deal will see him make $775,000 at the NHL level and $120,000 at the AHL level next season. His new deal also guarantees him $135,000.
Prior to joining the Devils, Laberge played in parts of two seasons for the Texas Stars and saw time in the ECHL with the Idaho Steelheads and Allen Americans.
Laberge played his junior hockey for the Rimouski Oceanic, where he had 120 points in 166 games over four seasons with the team.
While he might just be a depth/call-up option for the Devils, Laberge proved he was an important part of the Comets this past season.
With his new contract, he will again play a large role in the AHL next season and could even play his way into more time with the Devils if he can have a good training camp.
