Jessica Alcheh-USA TODAY Sports - New York Rangers Recall Dylan Garand from Hartford

The New York Rangers recalled goaltender Dylan Garand from Hartford, the team announced Thursday.

Garand, a 2020 fourth-round pick of the Rangers, is in his second full season since turning pro. In 39 regular season games this season, he accumulated a 16-17-5 record to go along with a 3.03 GAA and an .898 SV%.

Garand has also seen action in seven playoff games so far, posting a 5-2 record to go along with a 2.32 GAA and a .931 SV%.

While the Wolf Pack are currently taking on the Hershey Bears in the third round of the Calder Cup Playoffs, it looks like they will have to try and even the series without Garand.

While he has put up decent numbers throughout the regular season over the past few years, Garand looks to finally be turning the corner in his development.

A dominant goalie in junior hockey, Garand has proven in the past that he can take over games. While it is unlikely that he makes his NHL debut, Garand being around Igor Shesterkin and Jonathan Quick will only benefit him in the future.
