The Ottawa Senators have recalled forward Angus Crookshank from the Belleville Senators, it was announced Wednesday.
Crookshank, a 2018 fifth round pick of the Senators, has split time this year between the NHL and AHL, putting up one assist in eight games with Ottawa and 40 points in 60 games with Belleville.
A product of North Vancouver, B.C., Crookshank turned pro with the Senators organization at the end of the 2020-21 season after three years at the University of New Hampshire (NCAA). Since then, he has appeared in 21 NHL games, scoring two goals and adding two assists for four points.
With Crookshank getting another recall, it is a good sign that Senators' management view him as a solid depth option in the system. With his contract up at the end of the year, it is likely that the Senators extend him.
