The win against the Avs marked the 850th head coaching win for Maurice, which propelled him up the all-time head coaching wins list.

The 57-year-old has coached for the Hartford Whales, Carolina Hurricanes, Toronto Maple Leafs, Winnipeg Jets and Panthers, who he guided to the Stanley Cup finals in 2022-23.
In the American League, Maurice coached the Leafs' affiliate Toronto Marlies in the 2005-6 season, finishing to a 41-29-6-4 record, leading the club to the post-season where they would bow out in the first round to the Grand Rapids Griffins.
