Copley collected a .981 SV% in two starts last week

Ontario Reign goaltender Pheonix Copley has been named AHL Player of the Week, it was announced Monday.

Copley, who is in his third season with the Los Angeles Kings organization, posted a 2-0-0 record, a 0.50 GAA, a .981 SV% and a shutout in two starts last week.

In the Reign's game against the Texas Stars Friday, Copley made 27 saves for his first shutout of the season. He followed that up with a 25-save game against the Bakersfield Condors Saturday in a 3-1 win.

Having made nine appearances for the Reign this season, Copley has posted a record of 6-3-0, a GAA of 2.70 and a .901 SV%. Copley has also made one appearance with the Kings, collecting a 4.37 GAA and a .833 SV%.

Looking confident in his net and tracking almost everything that comes his way this past week, Copley has been lights out for the Reign and could earn himself a recall in the near future.

Correction: The spelling for Copley's first name has been fixed.
