The Rockford IceHogs have signed goaltender Owen Flores to a one-year deal, it was announced Monday.

Flores, a product of Chicago, Ill., spent this past season playing for the OHL's Niagara IceDogs, putting up a record of 24-16-6 along with a 3.82 goals-against average and a .899 save percentage in 47 regular season appearances. With Niagara having made the playoffs, Flores went 1-4 while posting a 4.55 GAA and a .899 SP in five games.

Drafted by the London Knights in the sixth round of the 2020 OHL Priority Selection, Flores got into parts of four OHL seasons with the Knights and the IceDogs, putting up a record of 47-74-17 in addition to a 4.19 GAA and a .890 SP.

With Flores joining the IceHogs, he makes the jump to the pro level instead of heading to the NCAA. A talented goalie who tracks pucks well through traffic, Flores is a solid signing for the IceHogs and could very likely get games with the team early on next season.
