Former San Jose Barracuda forward Carl Berglund has signed a one-year deal in Czechia with BK Mlada Boleslav, it was confirmed last week.
Berglund, who hails from Hammaro, Sweden, split this past season between the Barracuda and the Bakersfield Condors. Over a combined 47 games, he scored two goals and added 10 assists for 12 points.
Having come to North America midway through the 2018-19 season, Berglund spent part of that year with the USHL's Sioux Fall Stampede before heading off to the NCAA to join UMass Lowell. After spending four years with the River Hawks, Berglund made the jump to the AHL with the Condors.
Across 65 career AHL regular season games with the Condors and San Jose, Berglund put up three goals and 13 assists for 16 points. As he heads back overseas, Berglund could be an immedaite difference maker in Czechia's top pro league. He's showed his offensive skillset against top opponents and this opportunity should be no different.
