The Seattle Kraken have assigned goaltender Victor Ostman to the Coachella Valley Firebirds, it was announced Wednesday.
In his first full pro season, Ostman has spent time in the NHL, AHL and ECHL this year. Across 32 games with the ECHL's Kansas City Mavericks, Ostman has posted a record of 21-7-4 to go along with a 2.52 GAA and a .903 SP. His numbers with the Firebirds include a record of 2-1-1, a 2.00 GAA and a .927 SP in four games.
In his one NHL appearance with the Kraken, Ostman played one period, stopping all 12 shots sent his way.
A product of Danderyd, Sweden, Ostman joined the Firebirds at the end of last year after spending four seasons in the NCAA with the University of Maine.
With Ostman being assigned to the Firebirds, he will have the chance to continue his solid play in the AHL. While it's a small sample size, Ostman showed he could hang and will be one to monitor next season as a go-to player for Coachella Valley.
