The Crunch were busy on AHL trade deadline day with two separate deals.

It was a busy Friday for the Syracuse Crunch, who put pen to paper on two trades ahead of the AHL trade/loan deadline.

First, the Crunch acquired forward Jordy Bellerive from the San Jose Barracuda in exchange for Joe Carroll.

Bellerive, 24, has skated in 18 games with the Barracuda this season tallying two goals and seven assists after being traded from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms on Jan. 23. The 5-foot-11, 194-pound center played in 28 games with the Phantoms recording three goals and one assist. Bellerive has appeared in 264 career AHL games since 2019 with San Jose, Lehigh Valley and the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins earning 100 points (43g, 57a).

Carroll, a 23-year-old winger, has split his pro career between the ECHL and AHL.

The former Soo Greyhound and Peterborough Pete has 22 points in 46 games with the Crunch this season, throwing down five points in nine games last season.

Elsewhere, the Crunch acquired defenseman Quinn Schmiemann from the Abbotsford Canucks in exchange for future considerations.

Schmiemann, 22, has played in 25 games with Abbotsford this season tallying one goal and five assists. Last season, the 6-foot-2, 200-pound blue liner skated in 31 games with the Canucks posting two goals and four assists and six games with the Kalamzoo Wings of the ECHL earning two assists.

Schmiemann was selected by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the sixth round, 182nd overall, at the 2019 NHL Draft.
