Carlile spent the majority of the season playing with the Syracuse Crunch

Discussing the Eastern Conference Finals of the Calder Cup Playoffs

The Tampa Bay Lightning have re-signed defenseman Declan Carlile to a two-year, two-way extension, the team announced Friday.

The contract will see Carlile make $775,000 at the NHL level in both years of his deal but it differs when it comes to being at the AHL level and guaranteed money.

In 2024-25, Carlile will make $100,000 at the AHL level and is guaranteed $150,000. In 2025-26, the second year of his deal, Carlile will make $250,000 at the AHL level and will have $350,000 in guaranteed money.

A native of Flint, MI., Carlile spent the majority of this season playing for the Syracuse Crunch where he had seven goals and added 20 assists for 27 points in 61 regular season games. Carlile also saw one game with the Lightning, making his NHL debut on Jan. 4, 2024 against the Minnesota Wild.

Carlile, who recently wrapped up his second full season with the Crunch, was an important contributor in the playoffs where he collected five points in eight games.

Prior to turning pro, Carlile spent three seasons playing for Merrimack College (NCAA) where he collected 56 points in 83 career games.

As the Lightning look towards the future, they clearly identified Carlile as a solid depth piece to have in their system. Having made his NHL debut this past season, the Lightning view him as someone who can help and he could be a potential option for them when training camp opens.
