The Vancouver Canucks have loaned goaltender Arturs Silovs to the Abbotsford Cancuks, it was announced Sunday.
Silovs, a 2019 sixth round pick of the Canucks, has split time between Abbotsford and Vancouver this season. In seven appearances with Vancouver, he has a record of 1-4-1, a GAA of 4.11 and a .847 SP. With Abbotsford, Silovs has a record of 1-0-0, a 1.55 GAA and a .929 SP in two appearances.
A native of Riga, Latvia, Silovs has made 16 career NHL regular season appearances, collecting seven wins while posting a 3.22 GAA and a .877 SV%. Before making the jump to pro in North America, Silovs played pro and juniors in his native country as well as one season with the OHL's Barrie Colts.
While Silovs has not had the start to the season he had hoped for, he has looked good with Abbotsford. The Canucks' focus is most likely for Silovs to try and get his confidence back. If he can find where he was in the 2023-24 playoffs, he could have a good shot to see more games with Vancouver in the near future.
