The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins have signed forward Kyle Jackson to a one-year deal, the team announced Thursday.
Hailing from Ottawa, Ont., Jackson played for the ECHL's Kansas City Mavericks last season, collecting 14 goals and 30 assists for 44 points in 53 regular season games.
Drafted by the Seattle Kraken in the seventh round of the 2022 NHL Draft, Jackson never signed with the team and turned pro with the Mavericks last year.
Prior to jumping to the ECHL, Jackson spent parts of five seasons playing for the OHL's North Bay Battalion. In 186 career regular season games, he scored 71 goals and added 99 assists for 170 points.
Having showed well in his first pro season, Jackson could very well jump into the AHL full-time next year. He's shown the ability to produce offensively at every level he's played at and the Penguins should give him a chance to prove himself in the AHL.
