It's been a huge, record-setting weekend for Springfield Thunderbirds forward Adam Gaudette.
The 27-year-old tied the T-Birds single-season goal record on Friday in a 4-2 loss to the Providence Bruins, potting his 30th goal of the season in only his 47th game.
In a massive 7-3 win over the Laval Rocket last night, Gaudette would extend his hot run and smash the single-season goal-scoring record, netting his 31st goal for an all-time franchise high mark.
In just 48 games Gaudette has compiled a strong 31 goals and 19 assists for 50 points. The 31 goals are his career high as both a pro and junior. Gaudette currently sits first in the league in goals, being the only player to top the 30-goal mark, as well as fifth in the league in points.
A fifth-round draft pick of the Vancouver Canucks in 2015, Gaudette has 27 goals and 70 points in 220 games in the NHL between the Canucks, Blackhawks, Senators and Blues.
In the American League, Gaudette has clocked time with the Utica Comets, Toronto Marlies and Thunderbirds, putting up 64 goals in 129 AHL games.
