Former Kamloops Blazers All-Star Logan Stankoven is tearing up the AHL, leading all rookies in points and goals to start the young season.

20-year-old Kamloops, BC native Logan Stankoven is white hot for the Texas Stars as the AHL rolls through American Thanksgiving.

The 47th overall selection of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft by the Dallas Stars leads all American League rookies to start the 2023-24 season.

Through 14 games of the young season, Stankoven leads all rookies with 10 goals and 18 points with Texas, holding a tie for third in the overall points lead for 2023-24.

Stankoven was a stud for his hometown Blazers of the WHL in his final junior year, putting up a whopping 97 points, with 34 goals, in just 48 games, with a two-point per-game pace in the playoffs (14 games, 30 points).

At the 2023 World Junior Under-20 Championship, Stankoven put up 11 points in 7 games, finishing with a plus 12 as Canada captured gold in Halifax.

Dallas currently has one of the deeper top-nine forward cores in the National Hockey League, giving the red-hot center time to mature at the AHL level before a more-than-earned call-up in the foreseeable future.
