Joshua Roy - Montreal - Max Crozier - Tampa Bay - and Phil Kemp - Edmonton - joined the list of AHL alumni to hit NHL ice during 2024.

Another Saturday, another trio of AHL players making the jump into the National Hockey League.

Highly touted forward Joshua Roy suited up for Montreal in a tight 2-1 overtime loss to the Edmonton Oilers on home ice Saturday.

Roy, 20, blocked three shots with 13:03 of ice time, skating on a line with veterans Sean Monahan and Joel Armia. The fifth-round draft pick of the Habs in 2021 has 12 goals and 30 points in 34 games with the AHL's Laval Rocket.

Across the ice defenseman Phil Kemp likewise made his NHL debut in the contest with the opposing Edmonton Oilers, logging just 2:03 of ice time.

The seventh-round selection for Edmonton in 2017 has spent parts of the past four seasons in Bakersfield, collecting five points in 26 games with the Condors this season after a 2022-23 campaign where he potted 21 points in 72 games.

Twenty-three-year-old blueliner Max Crozier logged 13 minutes of ice time in his first NHL game with the Tampa Bay Lightning, who toppled the Anaheim Ducks 5-1 on Saturday.

Crozier, 23, was drafted in the fourth round by the Bolts in 2019, logging 10 points in 33 games with Tampa's AHL affiliate in Syracuse.

The three debuts now make the total of AHL vets stepping on NHL ice since the kickoff of 2024 to 14.
