    At 23, Mads Sogaard surpasses Filip Gustavsson for the most wins in Belleville Senators franchise history.

    With a win against the Utica Comets on Wednesday, Mads Sogaard has set a new Belleville Senators franchise record for wins.

    Sogaard stopped 25 of 27 shots to earn his 46th win, setting a new franchise record for wins by a goaltender, passing Filip Gustavsson.

    “He’s a rock," shared Head Coach Dave Bell post game. "He’s probably our best player and I think that’s safe to say. When he’s going he gives us a chance to win, no matter how we’re playing in front of him, he’s that good of a goalie. I think it’s well deserved, he’s in a good groove right now and that’s important to our group.”

    The 23-year-old second round draft selection of the Ottawa Senators has been outstanding in parts of four seasons in Belleville. 

    In 25 games this season the Dane has 14 wins and two shutouts with a 2.43 GAA and .920 SP. Overall Sogaard sits with a 2.83 GAA, .909 SP and 46 wins in 89 AHL games. 

    He's appeared in 27 NHL games with Ottawa, splitting a 10-10-3 record with a 3.44 GAA and .884 SP, having a rough stretch this season with a 4.05 GAA and .859 SP through six games.
