The Syracuse Crunch will continue their playoff push without Captain Gabriel Dumont.
The club announced today that Dumont will miss the remainder of the season after undoing successful surgery to repair a torn ACL.
Dumont, 33, has 14 goals and 28 points in 47 games in his third consecutive season in Syracuse.
Overall the former draft pick of the Montreal Canadiens has spent parts of six seasons with the Crunch, with further stints in the American League with the Hamilton Bulldogs, St. John’s IceCaps and Iowa Wild.
Dumont has suited up for a further 90 NHL games with the Canadiens, Lightning, Senators and Wild.
The Crunch currently sit second in the North Division with 74 points.
