The Hockey News looks back at the leading scorers of the past 10 years in the AHL and digs into where they currently call home in the wide world of pro hockey.

The American Hockey League has seen its share of talented offensive forces in its history.

Diving through the archives and stats sheets, The Hockey News looked back at the highest points producers of the past 10 years in the AHL and found out where they call home in the sport of hockey today.

Andrew Poturalksi - Chicago Wolves 2021-22 - 101 Points

No player in the past decade has put up more points across the American Hockey League than Williamsville's Andrew Poturalski.

The now 29-year-old, a by-product of the University of New Hampshire who previously suited up for the Carolina Hurricanes of the NHL, put up a whopping 101 points in 71 games in 2021-22 with the Chicago Wolves.

Poturalski has spent the past two seasons with the Coachella Valley Firebirds, putting up 42 points in 38 games in 2022-23.

T.J. Tynan - Ontario Reign 2021-22/2022-23 - 98 Points & 81 Points

The only player with two seasons atop the AHL leaderboard in the last ten years, T.J. Tynan has been a force across the American League, putting up a pair of 98-point (2021-22) and 81-point (2022-23) seasons.

A third-round pick by the Blue Jackets in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, Tynan has paid his dues, suiting up for the Falcons, Monsters, Wolves, Eagles, and most recently the Ontario Reign, a team that has seen him reach his highest threshold of pro-success.

He's back once again with the Reign for the 2023-24 season.

Travis Morin - Texas Stars 2013-14 - 88 Points

A ninth-round draft pick of the Washington Capitals, when there was such a thing, Travis Morin has gone on to be a constant in the Dallas organization, with his greatest success coming at the AHL level with Texas.

Morin put up a strong 88-point campaign in 2013-14 in Texas, with 32 goals. His final pro season was 2018-19 with the Stars, where he has gone on to serve as an Assistant Coach beginning in 2019-20.

Stefan Noesen - Chicago Wolves 2021-22 - 85 Points

Stefan Noesen is currently turning heads with the Carolina Hurricanes, but two years ago the 21st overall selection of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft was piling up points with the Chicago Wolves.

Noesen, a veteran of 295 NHL games across six clubs, tallied 85 points in 70 games, with a massive 48 goals, benefiting mightily from the production of teammate Andrew Poturalski.

He currently has eight points across 10 games with the Canes

Michael Carcone - Tucscon Roadrunners 2022-23 - 85 Points

Ajax, Ontario's Michael Carcone more than shattered any doubts he was NHL-ready after his AHL performance last season.

Carcone, who suited up for Arizona for 30 games between 2021-22 and 22-23, put up 85 points with Tucson last year, including a career-high 31 goals.

For his efforts, Carcone has been promoted to the Coyotes, finding himself occupying a secondary PP-unit slot and sharing time opposite the likes of star-prospect Logan Cooley, Lawson Crouse, and veteran Nick Bjustad.

He has six points and four goals through seven games of the young NHL season.

Alex Barre-Boult has spent all but two games of his pro career with the Tampa Bay Lightning organization, putting together a standout 22-23 campaign with Syracuse, with 84 points in 69 games, including nine points in five games of the Calder Cup playoffs.

He currently finds himself flanking the likes of Brayden Point, Nikita Kucherov, and Steven Stamkos on Tampa Bay's top lines and occupying space on the secondary power-play unit, banking five points, with three goals, in seven games.

Kenny Agostino - Chicago Wolves 2016-17 - 83 Points

A fifth-round selection for Pittsburgh in 2010, Kenny Agostino has navigated the pro ranks, netting 30 points in 86 NHL games while suiting up for six different AHL clubs.

It was in the A that he found his scoring touch, earning a league-best 83 points in 2016-17, with 10 points in as many playoff games.

He's spent the past three seasons overseas with the KHL, and currently with Duesseldorf EG of DEL, where he has eight points in 11 games.

Carter Verhaeghe - Syracuse Crunch 2018-19 - 82 Points

Carter Verhaeghe has emerged as a legit threat at the NHL level, putting together a sublime 73-point, 42-goal season with the Florida Panthers in 2022-23.

But it was with the Tampa Bay Lightning organization where the third-round pick of the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2013 found his scoring touch.

Verhaeghe put together a solid 82-point, 34-goal season with the Crunch in 76 games in 2018-19, a clear indicator of his offensive upside.

Chris Bourque - Hershey Bears 2015-16 - 80 Points

The 33rd overall selection of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, Chris Bourque played the game of hockey all over the world.

With 51 NHL games to his credit and stints in the Swiss-A league, KHL, and DEL, Bourque was a true iron man of the game for 17 pro seasons.

It was with the Hershey Bears where he found a long-lasting home and his greatest success, banking 80 points in 2015-16 and a whopping 93 points in 2011-12.

Upon his retirement in the summer of 2022, the Bears would retire his number 17 during a special ceremony in the 2022-23 AHL season.
