The Kings travel to the Sin City to take on the Golden Knights in what is always an exciting matchup. Vegas are defending Stanley Cup Champions and look the part with the third-best record in the league at 21-10-5 and have the fourth-best offense in the month of December with an average of 3.75 goals per game. However, the Kings look to be the new kid in town with a top three offense in goals per game this season (3.58) and the best defense in the league with the lowest goals against per game (2.32) thanks to their elite depth, which was once a Vegas trademark.
It is sure to be an exciting game with both teams splitting their last six games. Most recently, the Kings won 4-1 in early November on the road in a tough environment that is T-Mobile Arena. The Kings 4-1 win in their last matchup was their first game under six or more goals in 12 games. These two routinely have high-scoring games and despite the Kings elite defense, the Golden Knights should get two or three goals past Cam Talbot, who has a 8-7-3 record and a 3.12 goals against average in his career versus Vegas. Both teams are coming in on a back-to-back as well, which could mean tired legs on defense as well.

The Kings get out to early leads often as they are tied for the eighth-most first period goals in the league with 35 goals in 31 games. The Golden Knights have scored first in 19 of 36 games this year which is tied for fifth-most in the league. Both teams should come out of the gate hot and at least get one goal a piece.
