The Islanders 5-17 record as a favourite should scare betters away from taking them on the puck line

The Golden Knights play their second game of a back-to-back coming off a high-scoring shootout against the Devils with both teams surprising with their offense despite both teams being battered with injuries. They take on a Islanders team that just named Hall-of-famer Patrick Roy as their new bench boss and has been making headlines with how hard he is working his new squad. They won their first game with Roy against the Stars in an impressive 3-2 win where they shut down one of the league’s best offenses.

They get to bring the intensity once again to a Vegas team that isn’t themselves when they aren’t playing in Sin City with a 9-9-4 road record compared to their league best 18-5-2 home record. They have the same road scoring average of 3.05 goals per game as the Blue Jackets and a goals against average of 3.32 per game that aligns them with the Wild and Sabres.

It should be a tight game with the Golden Knights looking to prove they can win on the road and the Islanders looking to win their second in a row for their new coach. If you are invested in these storylines and want to get in on the action, here is our best bet for tonight’s matchup that should help earn you some cash.

Pick: Golden Knights +1.5 (-190)

We just went over so many bad statistics for these boys on the road but they do have a great history of being an underdog with an 11-4 record this season as an underdog with four straight covers as an underdog. The four blown covers were against some of the toughest teams in the league with the Avalanche, Hurricanes and Panthers twice. They should be able to keep things close with a Islanders team rarely listed as a favourite and when they are they are 5-17 on the season. I would say to stick with the defending Stanley Cup Champions to keep things close.
