Joel Farabee looks to help his Flyers score in a tough matchup against Andrei Vasilevskiy and the Lightning

The Lightning had won five straight heading into Detroit before being downed by Alex Lyon and company and now travel down Broad Street to take on the youngest hottest team in hockey right now in the Flyers. Philadelphia had also won five straight before being rolled over by the Avalanche and outscored by a red hot Senators offense.

The Flyers have surprised hockey fans by going from a projected lottery team to a possible playoff team. Whether it’s a highlight reel goal from Owen Tippett or a chippy battle started in front of the net by Travis Konency, this team has become must-see tv and they can back it up just not against the Lightning. These two have a one-sided history with the Flyers winning only two of their last 14 matchups and the Lightning winning two straight headed into tonight.

Philadelphia also haven't quite mastered playing at home yet with the 21st-ranked home record at 11-10-2 with a bottom six home offense averaging 2.70 goals per game. They will need to find their offense if they want a chance against a Tampa team that ranks first in powerplay, operating at 29.7 per cent.

It should be a great game with the rowdy Philly faithful in attendance and finally starting to notice how good their young team is. If you plan to watch this game and want to get in on the action and feel like you are at Wells Fargo Center, here is our best bet for tonight’s matchup.

Pick: Joel Farabee over 0.5 points (-130)

The Flyers are 6-3-0 in their last nine games and have seen great surges in production from youngsters Owen Tippett and Morgan Frost, who have a combined eight goals and 17 points over the nine game stretch. They aren’t leading the team however as Joel Farabee has become the top dog during their hot stretch with five goals and ten points and moving up to second on the team in scoring.

It’s quite surprising his line is so low but he is going against Andrei Vasilevskiy, who has returned to his normal self with a goals against average of 2.85 and a save percentage of .898 in his last 6 games that could make things difficult for the Flyers. They may not win this game but Farabee should help get at least one of their goals.
