The Devils and Golden Knights beat-up rosters can't produce enough offense to hit the over

The Devils have two wins in their last seven games with injuries playing a factor. The Golden Knights are also starting to suffer from this in their Stanley Cup hangover with long-term injuries to Jack Eichel, William Carrier, Shea Theodore and William Karlsson along with netminder Adin Hill popping in and out of the lineup for most of the season with an undisclosed injury. Vegas has started to regain some momentum with wins in three of their last four games and beating good teams like the Bruins and Rangers.

They are still seeing production out of Captain Mark Stone, who has led the way for his team over their last seven games with three goals and nine points. One of the original misfits, Jonathan Marchessault, is still playing at a high level with three goals and six points in the new year and taking the secondary spot in points behind Stone over their last seven games. The two will need to lead their offense again as they take on a Devils team that allows 3.22 goals per game on average that lands them near the bottom of the league since the start of the new year.

Vegas will look to keep their winning culture and the Devils should look to capitalize on the injuries to the Golden Knights’ frontend and play a great defensive game. It looks like it will be a close game and if you want to get in on the Brick City action, here is our best bet for tonight’s matchup between the Golden Knights and Devils.

Pick: Under 6.5 goals (-165)

The Golden Knights feel like a great pick on the road but let us not forget that this is very much a team that relies on their home ice advantage with the best home record in the league at 18-52 on the season. Their road record is significantly worse at 9-9-3 that ranks 20th in the league and has them tied in points with the likes of the Sabres and Islanders.

This team can’t perform on the road as they’ve dropped six straight with their most recent loss coming at the hands of the Avalanche. It was the Golden Knights second road game in a row being shut out and made it seven periods since they've scored on the road, dating back to their 5-2 loss to the Ducks just after Christmas. The injuries don't help, so the only way they win this game is with their defense and keeping the Devils at bay, which also may not be hard as they’ve totaled seven or more goals just once in their last five games and the one occasion was giving up a slew of last minute goals to the Stars in a 6-2 loss. The Golden Knights also rank 22nd in goals per road game with a 2.95 average and the Devils average 3.23 goals per home game that lands them in the middle of the pack.
