The Kraken look to surprise and keep things close against the Rangers, who've lost five straight on the puck line

The Kraken looked rough in mid-December with a 8-14-7 record that had them bottom six in the league through their first 29 games. Since then, they’ve gone on a tear with a 11-1-2 record and the league’s best defense and goaltending with a 1.64 goals against per game average thanks to stellar play from goaltender Joey Daccord, who has come out of nowhere with a 13-6-8 record in 25 starts with a 2.28 goals against average that ranks second-best behind Connor Hellebuyck in goalies with at least 20 starts.

The Rangers will have an easier task trying to get past expected starter Chris Dreidger, who only has one start this season in a 37 save performance versus the Flames.

It should be an uber-defensive game with the Kraken building great habits on the backend and having to try and score on Rangers’ expected netminder Igor Shesterkin. If you want to get in on this tight Tuesday night matchup, here is our best bet that should help you get a win.

Pick: Kraken +1.5 (-135)

It is quite surprising for a team as hot as Seattle to be listed as underdogs at such a good value. The Kraken have gotten into the habit of playing great defensive, low-scoring games with five or fewer goals in nine of their last 12 games, which should give them a great chance to stay competitive in this one. They are also a great betting team this season with a 20-10 record this season as an underdog.

The Rangers have had a great season and have become a team near the top of the betting favourites to take home lord Stanley, but they’ve been lackluster as a betting team with a 12-22 record as a favourite with five straight losses on the puck line. Go with the hot hand and ride with the underdog.
