The Ducks look to battle a Sharks team with four wins in their last five games and take them to the over thanks to their weak goaltending

The Sharks have the daunting task of a back-to-back after winning last night 2-0 over the Kraken and now travel South to Anaheim to take on the league’s worst home team in the Ducks. The win Tuesday night was the Sharks fourth in their last five games as they look to heat up and find their way out of the basement of the league although it may already be too late.

The Ducks are dealing with a slew of injuries as they have Trevor Zegras, Max Jones, Alex Killorn and young defenseman Pavel Mintyukov, who had put himself into the Calder conversation before landing on the injured reserve with the rest of his teammates. It doesn’t look good for the Ducks with key players out for significant time and John Gibson’s stellar play in net not being enough to win them games.

Anaheim has seen forwards Troy Terry, Adam Henrique and Frank Vatrano carry the load on offense with the three combining for 14 goals and 35 points since the start of the new year. They should have a great chance to win a game against a tired San Jose squad. If you plan to watch this game as it’s the only game on the late slate and want to get in on the action, here are our best bets that should help you go to bed easy tonight with extra cash tonight.

Pick: Over 6.5 goals (+110)

John Gibson hasn’t been at his best for the Ducks this season with a 3.58 goals against average and only three wins in his last ten starts. He’s not getting a lot of help from his defense as he’s being forced to make 26.7 saves per game this season. The Sharks should bring the heat of their winning streak and be matched with a Ducks team that is well rested after being off for three days.

They should find the back of the net against Sharks expected starter Kaapo Kahkonen, who’s goals against average of 3.59 is second-worst in the league in goalies who’ve started at least 20 games. Both goalies should at least give up three goals with one giving up four and helping us secure the over.
