The Stars look to contain a Devils team that has struggled to find the back of the net without star player Jack Hughes

The Devils are trying to find their footing again as they continue to deal with their injury depleted lineup. Playing on the second half of a back to back after a 4-1 win against Columbus, they look to build on it as they host the Dallas Stars, who usually thrived away from home this season with a 12-5-3 record prior to a majorly disappointing loss against the the Philadelphia Flyers, where they only managed 15 shots.

Both teams look to regain momentum. If you are looking to gain some positive momentum going into the weekend, here is our best bet for Saturday night’s matchup that should help you get a win.

Under 5.5 goals (+140)

Throughout the entire season, the Stars' offense has been their primary strength. They boast the third-highest goal average in the league, scoring an impressive 3.61 goals per game. However, their momentum was halted with a 5-1 defeat on Thursday, ending their streak of scoring three goals or more in 10 consecutive games. Despite their impressive road record, the Stars have split their last six games away from home with losses to the Flyers and the Blues twice.

On the other hand the Devils have had a tough time without Hughes in the lineup, with a 2-2-1 record in their five games without him and their offense suffering because of it, scoring only 10 goals at even strength during those five games. Most of the goals have come from forward Alexander Holtz and defenseman John Marino, who have a combined five of the Devils' 13 goals since Hughes' injury.

Stars score first (-1300

Expect Dallas to come out firing on all cylinders and putting an emphasis on getting pucks to the net after notching only one shot on goal in the first period on Thursday against the Flyers. They will look to come out with more intensity and put the pressure on a Devils team that has scored first the fewest this season with a league-worst 13 times. The Stars is slightly better in this area with 20 games this season where they have scored first, one game behind the Panthers, Lightning, Jets and Flames who are all tied with 21 first goals.
