The Red Wings look to fight back against surging Panthers team in high-scoring affair without star Patrick Kane

The Panthers were rolling with nine straight wins, beating teams like the Rangers, Avalanche and Golden Knights twice. Since then, they’ve dropped their last two games to an injury-riddled Devils team and blew a two goal lead to a Ducks team that had one win in their previous eight games. They look to bounce back Wednesday night against a Red Wings that had been falling for some time now with an 8-9-2 record since Patrick Kane joined the offense but in their last eight games have picked things up with a 6-1-1 record.

The Cats are looking to bounce back and prevent three losses in a row which they haven’t done since March of last season. Detroit should stay competitive in this one and make it an exciting game. If you want to get in on this action, here is our best pick for tonight’s game that should help you get a win.

Pick: Over 6.5 goals (-115)

When Kane joined the Wings, they went on a 3-8-1 run with a decline in offense and falling to 17th in goals per game with a 3.08 average and having a complete breakdown on their backend with the second-worst goals against per game average with 4.33 that was worse than the Sharks, Senators and Blackhawks.

Since then, they’ve found their groove once again with a 6-1-1 record and a point percentage tied with the Canucks for fourth-best in the league. They’ve found their offense with four or more goals in five of the six wins and held teams to three goals or fewer in six straight games. It’ll be tough to slow down a Cats team that has been so good as of late but the Wings should stay competitive in this game and drive the game to the over even without Kane, who has been ruled out with a lower-body injury.

Pick: Alex Lyon 30+ saves (-140)

The Red Wings have been good but they are giving up a lot of shots and needing to be bailed out by their goaltending as they are giving up the third-most shots in their last eight games with an average of 34.4 a game and the Panthers will be aggressive looking to get back in the win column. Lyon is averaging 28.5 saves per game this season but should see a boost with the Wings recent habits and should get at least 30 if not more.
