The Calgary Flames are underdogs against New Jersey Devils despite winning nine of their last 12 matchups.

2024-25 Winnipeg Jets Introductions

We are looking to win big on Friday with another packed slate of NHL action that we can look to exploit and start off November on the right note. The Winnipeg Jets look to stay perfect on the road when traveling to Columbus to take on the feisty Blue Jackets while the Stars host the Panthers in a thrilling showdown and the Flames cap off the night with a tight matchup versus the Devils.

Our picks have stayed hot with a 4-2 record Thursday, extending our hot streak to 19-11 over our last 30 picks. We look to stay in the green heading into the weekend.

All betting lines are from Bet365 and are subject to change. Hockey is a difficult sport to predict so please gamble responsibly.

Bet: Blue Jackets ML (+140), Kirill Marchenko Over 0.5 points (-135)

The Jets are entering a perfect letdown spot Friday as they face off against a surprising Blue Jackets team. Columbus has a winning record at 5-3-1 and have beat the Jets in four of their last seven matchups. They've also beat Winnipeg in four of their last six matchups at home.

Winnipeg will have an uphill battle that is reflected in their betting odds at -165 on the moneyline. The Blue Jackets on the puck line looks to be a solid value at -170 but we feel even more confident that they will win this game as the Jets are electing to go with their backup netminder Eric Comrie in this one.

Winnipeg's regular starter Connor Hellebuyck is a two-time Vezina trophy winner and makes things difficult for any team to play against so Columbus catching the Jets without him is their perfect chance to strike for a couple of goals. The Blue Jackets have an underrated offence this season, averaging 3.89 goals per game.

This is in large part due to their top line of Yegor Chinakhov, Sean Monahan and Kirill Marchenko. The trio are on fire with of 12 of the Blue Jackets' 35 goals this season. The best value of the three is Marchenko as he leads the team in points with 11 and has a pair of goals and three assists for five points over their last four games.

Bet: Kyle Palmieri anytime goal (+225), Islanders Over 3.5 goals (+155)

The 33-year-old veteran forward has continued to be a factor on the ice for New York with a team-leading seven points in ten games. Friday's matchup versus Devon Levi and the Buffalo Sabres looks to be a favourable one for him as the odds are dropped for all Islanders players.

This is in large part due to the Sabres limiting goals constantly when playing with goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen. Backup Devon Levi has seen his shining moments in the NHL but this season he's faltered more often than not with 11 goals allowed through three starts.

In Levi's only career starts versus the Islanders, he allowed three goals and in Palmieri's last seven games, he has three goals and should add to his total Friday.

Bet: Flames ML (+150)

The Flames looked to surprise fans this season when starting off the season red hot with wins in five of their first six games. They've since regressed to what people expected of them this season with four straight losses heading into Friday.

New Jersey experienced their early season woes but have started to correct their path with two straight wins. Calgary will look to bounce back at home in what has been a favourable matchup for them in the past, winning nine of their last 12 games versus New Jersey.

The Devils have won just three games in their last 12 trips to Calgary and may let down betters in this spot.

85 per cent of the bets on the moneyline and 70 per cent of the bets on the puck line are for the Devils in this one which makes it a perfect let down spot that the sportsbooks will benefit from.
