Chicago Blackhawks have scored the fewest goals on the road this season at just 72 and is nine goals back of the next closest team in San Jose Sharks.
Wednesday has just three games on the NHL slate but still give us enough options for another addition to our Pad Stacking Challenge. We are resting at $35 as of today that we look to continue to roll.
If you aren’t familiar, our new betting challenge uses the concept of building our bank and rolling over our profits. We do this by stacking our winnings through well-researched picks given out daily that will hopefully build our bank.
We started our climb once again on Monday and hit thanks to Evgeni Malkin who then pasted on the good luck to Alex Lyon and the Detroit Red Wings, who held the Capitals to under three goals despite receiving the loss.
Tonight, we’ve found another solid addition to the Challenge and come in the way of the game that kicks off the night in the Blues versus the Blackhawks.
All betting lines are from BetMGM and are subject to change. Hockey is a difficult sport to predict so please gamble responsibly.
Bet: Blackhawks Under 2.5 goals (-155)
The Blackhawks have made strides lately with wins over the Stars, Flyers and Flames. They have never been an offensive team and despite winning a couple more games they still aren’t with a 2.93 goals per game average over their last 15 games.
The average still has them outside of the top 16 teams in the league as they still trail teams like the Devils, who have a worse 7-10-1 record during that stretch but have a higher goals per game average at 3.06 despite having four more losses than Chicago.
The Blues are one of the best shutdown teams in the league and they only improve when playing at home with the 12th-fewest goals allowed this season at 109 and beating out teams like the Lightning, Capitals and Predators.
It shouldn’t be hard for them to stop a Chicago offense that has scored the least road goals in the league this season at 72 which is nine back of the next best team in the Sharks. It shouldn’t be difficult for the Blues to shut down the Blackhawks as they are going to be firing on all cylinders trying to make the playoffs.
If the Blues can manage to shut down the Hawks, our $35 would turn into $57 that will help us hopefully get to the $100 mark before the end of the week.
